Satisfied In Christ: Finding Our All In The Everlasting Love of God – Exodus 34:6-7; 1 John 4:9-10; Jeremiah 31:3 #GodIsLove #Faith #Hope #Love

Candolim_Beach_GoaEternal love. This is what my soul deeply longs for, what my soul desires. Although our flesh may sometimes convince us otherwise, we can’t expect humans to be EVERYTHING we need. But God in Christ Jesus is. I think about the many times that I have had high expectations (and even low expectations) of others, and they have failed me miserably. They have let me down more times than I count. But they are not God, and they will never be. He is the only One who completely satisfies all of our deepest longings of the heart. He is the One who truly satisfies.

If we hunger (and we will hunger), He has told us: Come and feast with me (John 6:35; Psalm 107:9). If we thirst (and we will thirst), He has told us: Thirst no more. I am the living water, and He who comes to me will have his thirst quenched (John 4:14). Just like the woman at the well in John 4, God through His Son Jesus Christ gives us everything we need. He is everything we need. We can end our search for love, for joy, for peace, for happiness with Him.

What an amazing promise this is! As we seek satisfaction, completeness, and wholeness in the things of this world, God in all of His mercy, sovereignty, and grace will eventually allow all of those pursuits to fall through. He will allow us to be dissatisfied, always coming up short, essentially running on empty so that we will ultimately long for Him and only Him – as we were created to be and do. He will pursue us to no end. And one day, we will meet Him in His pursuit. We will come running to Him as He accepts us with open arms. His love is the bomb like that. And He is faithful like that. ❤

His love is perfect, unfailing, compassionate, merciful, gracious, gentle, patient, kind, truthful, understanding, holy, and a bunch of other adjectives that will never succeed in describing the magnitude and magnificence of His love. I think back to the day He saved me wholly and completely; I was crying out to Him in a dark room with a face full of tears, asking for His help. Asking for His forgiveness. Asking for His strength. Asking for His comfort. And He saved me that night. He rescued me from all of my troubles, justified me, washed me clean, and promised to be everything I needed from that day forward. And He has never failed me. And in return, I have loved – and will continue to love – Him with all of my heart, mind, soul, and strength. I have served – and will continue to serve – Him with my entire life. He is my everything. Indeed.

Do you know Him? Do you know God like this? I pray you do. For His love is the greatest love you will ever know. No love will ever compare to His immeasurable, incomparable, irresistible love.

God is love. Love is a lifestyle.

Jesus lived it, and He’s still living it.

And so should we. Don’t you forget it. 👑💖✨💎

Scripture References:

And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Exodus 34:6-7

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:9-10

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Jeremiah 31:3
