I’m on a break from my blog site, but I have decided to sign in for the last four Federal Holidays until the new year. [Spoiler Alert: They may just be reblogs or hyperlinks which I may have already included in this post. Lol.] As a creative, I can’t stop writing, and thinking, and dreaming, and imagining, and doing, and being. As a teacher, trainer, coach, and educator, I love to inspire others. I have some reading materials that I have recently recommended for those who wish to follow along and read with your students and/or families until the end and the beginning of the year. But, first, I wanted to stop and provide some random updates, and write and encourage you all as it relates to womanhood, manhood, and submission.
So…today is October 14, 2019. The store I frequent opened up on time this morning, and I talked to the cashier about the braids she did herself, and then I was early to the library, and I thought…someone must have slept in my bed the night before. Lol.
God is always on time.
Drank a Mocha Iced Latte this morning. There was more milk than coffee in this one. I’m glad I bought some Cranberry Grape Juice too! [I also drank some Pink Moscato last night. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone. Twenty-one years and older! Drink responsibly.]
The morning’s events brought me to these scripture passages: 1 Timothy 2:9-15. 1 Timothy 4:12-16.
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
Fun fact about me: I love polka dots. I love elongated necks on shirts. I love both simplicity and style. I love wisdom.
I remember during my last trip to Chicago in 2016, on a specific day, I wore khaki pants and a collared hot pink (polka dot) and pastel pink shirt that buttoned down and tied at the bottom. I had on brown glasses, no makeup, and my hair was in a messy bun. I was in a workshop, intently listening, when someone decided to speak. He was tall, wise, and had on a burgundy hat that said “Beautiful Mind” on it. Time stopped for like five minutes, then he walked out.
Long story short:
Update: So, the eyeglasses that I currently have (purchased in early March) broke…long story…and I planned to purchase some really stylish ones from Warby Parker, but communication lines were crossed, and after two weeks, I realized that they needed me to send PD measurements online, and I said…nope. Lol. I can purchase somewhere else OR go back into an eye center.
Just curious: Did anyone take advantage of Warby Parker’s REALLY stylish eyeglasses?!
Teachers, Trainers, Coaches, Educator(s):
Currently working through a Teacher Collection for the summer and for the rest of the year.
Here is the collection so far if you want to follow along with me (one was mentioned in the blog post added here):
Books: Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, Kiyo’s Story, Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (Book and DVD), The Distracted Preacher by Thomas Hardy, The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis, Soul Catcher by Frank Herbert, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus by John Gray, Silent Sacrifice (DVD).
Can’t wait to dive in, read, watch, and share with everyone. This is most likely what I will be writing about on the blog in the beginning of next year.
